Specialty Coffee Barista

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages

according to company recipes and brand standards.

• Calibrate espresso grinders and brewing

equipment to maintain consistency in extraction and beverage quality.

• Perform manual brewing methods such as V60,

Chemex, French Press, AeroPress, and Cold Brew.

• Ensure consistency in coffee taste, presentation, and overall beverage quality.

• Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of coffee equipment and workstations.

• Educate guests on coffee origins, brewing methods, and menu offerings to enhance the customer experience.

• Monitor coffee bean freshness and stock levels, reporting replenishment requirements when necessary.

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.

• Support upselling of specialty beverages, retail products, and food items.

• Assist in training junior baristas on coffee preparation, service standards, and equipment handling.

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Specialty Coffee Barista in a specialty café or premium coffee environment.
• Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, grinder calibration, milk texturing, and manual brewing techniques.
• Understanding of coffee origins, processing methods, roast profiles, and flavor characteristics.
• Experience operating and maintaining professional espresso machines and coffee equipment.
• Passion for specialty coffee and continuous learning within the coffee industry.
