Job Brief:
The Specification Engineer is responsible for driving product specifications with architects, consultants, and contractors across the country. The role focuses on ensuring the company's acoustic underlay, insulation, HVAC accessories, vibration-control products, and other building-material solutions are included in project designs, tender documents, and consultant approvals. This position requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to interpret drawings, and a consultative approach to managing relationships with design firms and project stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships witharchitects, acoustic consultants, MEP consultants, specifiers, and contractors.
- Ensure the company's solutions arespecified in design documents, BOQs, and tender packages.
- Delivertechnical presentations, CPDs, and product demonstrationsto consultants and design firms.
- Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQs to identify opportunities for product inclusion.
- Prepare detailedproduct specificationsfor acoustic underlay, insulation, HVAC components, vibration-isolation products, or other assigned systems.
- Maintain an updatedproject and consultant database, including specification progress and follow-up status.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Engineering, Production) to define technical requirements for projects.
- Preparetechnical submittals, compliance sheets, and supporting documentsto secure consultant approvals.
- Support the Sales Engineer in converting project specifications intoquotations and cost estimates.
- Stay updated onindustry codes, standards, and compliance requirementsrelevant to building materials.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 25 years of experiencein specification, technical support, or consultant-facing roles within HVAC, insulation, building materials, or construction products.
- Strong technical understandingof MEP, HVAC, acoustic systems, or construction materials.
- Ability to interpretAutoCAD drawings, project specs, and technical documents.
- Skilled in preparingtechnical presentations, submittals, and compliance documentation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with consultants and contractors.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills for reviewing drawings and BOQs.
