1.2 Position Purpose

The Business Analyst — Power BI, Power Automate & Data is a pivotal programme resource for Project Tanseek, responsible for bridging the gap between raw legacy data and actionable business intelligence during. This role combines deep data extraction and modelling capability with hands-on Power BI dashboard development and Power Automate workflow automation, enabling Mirage Leisure Development to maintain business visibility, improve process efficiency, and support data-driven decision-making throughout the critical transition period from legacy systems to Oracle Fusion Cloud.

The role operates across all functional domains — Finance, Projects, and HR — working closely with the Data Analysts to develop consolidated data models that span Sage Evolution, Deltek Vantagepoint, Smart HR and other sources like Excel. This is a unique, high-impact position that serves both the programme and the business simultaneously.

1.3 Key Responsibilities

1 Extract structured and unstructured data from all four source environments — Sage Evolution (Finance), Deltek Vantagepoint (Projects), Smart HR (HR & Payroll), and Excel-based business models and trackers. Document data sources, field structures, extraction methods, and refresh frequencies for each data stream.

2 Profile and assess data quality across all extracted sources. Identify structural inconsistencies, data gaps, format mismatches, and transformation requirements that impact the ability to build reliable data models and dashboards. Collaborate with the Finance & Projects Data Analyst and HR Data Analyst to align profiling findings and cleansing priorities.

3 Design and build integrated data models that consolidate financial, project, and HR data from multiple legacy sources into coherent, analysis-ready structures. Apply star schema or appropriate data modelling patterns suitable for Power BI consumption. Define relationships, hierarchies, calculated columns, and DAX measures aligned to Mirage's business reporting requirements.

4 Develop end-to-end Power BI reports and dashboards for Finance, Projects, and HR stakeholders. Dashboards must cover — but are not limited to — Financial Performance (P&L, budget vs actual, cash flow), Project Portfolio Status (cost, resource utilisation, milestone tracking), HR Workforce Analytics (headcount, leave, turnover, payroll cost), and Programme Delivery (migration progress, issue resolution rates, go-live readiness).

5 Build and maintain a dedicated Project Tanseek Programme Dashboard in Power BI, providing real-time visibility into migration workstream status, data quality scores, open issue counts, milestone progress, and go-live readiness indicators — consumed by Gautham Parthasarathy and the senior leadership team.

6 Develop Power Automate workflows to automate repetitive programme and business processes, including but not limited to: automated data extraction and refresh triggers, document approval and sign-off routing for migration sign-off packs, notification flows for data quality issues and milestone breaches, and scheduled report distribution to stakeholders.

7 Design and implement a data transformation layer (using Power Query M, Python, or SQL) to standardise, cleanse, and reshape extracted legacy data before loading it into Power BI data models. Ensure all transformations are documented, repeatable, and version-controlled.

8 Work closely with Finance, Projects, and HR business owners to gather, document, and validate reporting requirements. Conduct structured requirements workshops, produce Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) for each dashboard, and obtain formal sign-off from business owners before dashboard development begins.

9 Develop and maintain a consolidated Data Dictionary covering all data sources, field definitions, business rules, and transformation logic used across all Power BI models. This document serves as the authoritative reference for data definitions across Project Tanseek.

10 Manage Power BI workspace governance: configure Row-Level Security (RLS) for Finance, HR, and Projects audiences, manage dataset refresh schedules, monitor gateway health, and ensure dashboards meet Mirage's data access and confidentiality policies.

11 Train and enable key business users on Power BI report navigation, filtering, and self-service analytics. Produce user guides and conduct brief training sessions for Finance, Projects, and HR teams prior to go-live.

12 Produce programme-quality documentation for all deliverables: Data Source Inventory, Data Model Design Documents, Dashboard Specifications, Power Automate Workflow Diagrams, DAX Measure Catalogue, and Power BI Governance Framework.

1.5 Technical Skills & Qualifications

Essential Requirements Desirable / Advantageous

• Minimum 4 years experience as a Business Analyst or BI Developer

• Expert-level Power BI: data modelling, DAX, Power Query (M), RLS, workspaces, gateway management

• Hands-on Power Automate: cloud flows, approval workflows, scheduled triggers, Microsoft 365 connectors

• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation across relational databases

• Experience extracting data from ERP or finance systems (Sage, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar)

• Advanced Microsoft Excel: Power Query, pivot tables, dynamic arrays, data modelling

• Experience with data from project management or PSA systems (Deltek, Project Online, or similar)

• Strong data modelling skills: star schema, fact/dimension tables, relationship management

• Ability to conduct requirements workshops and translate business needs into technical BI solutions

• Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) certification

• Microsoft Power Platform (PL-200) certification

• Experience with Oracle Fusion OTBI, Oracle Analytics Cloud, or BIP (BI Publisher)

• Familiarity with Sage Evolution reporting or database schema

• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint report-ing APIs or database

• Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud data structures for GL, AP, AR, PPM, and HCM

• Experience in ERP implementation or system migration programmes

• Python for data extraction, transformation, or automation scripting

• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Dataverse, or SharePoint as data sources in Power Platform
