Job Summary
Sr. Application Engineer, Digital Mission Engineering role is based in Dubai (UAE) and will be responsible for leveraging engineering domain knowledge and expertise to assist customers in solving complex engineering problems using Ansys Digital Mission Engineering (DME) software (STK and ODTK tools). The engineer will provide pre/post-sales support, technical training on Ansys products for customers in Middle East region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced engineering expertise and knowledge of Digital Mission Engineering, especially with Ansys STK, ODTK to provide the highest level of technical support, ensuring high-quality, timely customer service, and pre-sales demonstrations to customers.
- Own customer problems, and proactively engage with selected accounts to provide comprehensive solutions. Contribute to all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity lifecycle, interact with customers to understand their product design needs and engineering design workflows, and articulate Ansys value proposition.
- Conduct introductory, intermediate, and advanced training classes. Scope and deliver professional services for projects, potentially collaborating with other field engineers.
- Participate in internal initiatives to share knowledge and create best practices. Develop simulation best practices, solutions, and FAQs for the knowledge base.
- Architect and develop holistic system-level solutions and workflows using Ansys DME tools by leveraging technologies and disciplines such as tool integration, System Architecture Modeling, Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), and digital mission engineering.
- Develop competence as a subject matter expert and industry expert in the field of multidomain mission engineering.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or related fields.
- Required years of professional experience: BS+10, MS+6, or PhD+3
- Working knowledge of satellite orbits, space mission design, aircraft systems or drones / UAVs design.
- Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry.
- Demonstrated use of Ansys DME software (STK, ODTK) and knowledge of multiphysics tools (e.g. structural, fluid dynamics, electromagnetics, thermal etc.).
- Proficiency in Python or MATLAB scripting.
- Demonstrated skills in reading, writing and presenting in fluent English.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to conduct customer presentations and training sessions.
- Ability to work on multiple projects which are complex in nature.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time
Skill Set:
- STK/ODTK Certification from AGI.
- Demonstrated use of Ansys ODTK.
- Knowledge of other Ansys products, especially ModelCenter, SCADE or medini.
- Automation, extension, integration, or otherwise customization of STK.
- Experience in SysML development.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in Astrodynamics (orbital mechanics, trajectory optimization, mission planning).
- Strong understanding of Flight Dynamics (aircraft stability and control, aerodynamic performance).
- Familiarity with Radar Systems principles, simulation, and analysis.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in Multiphysics simulations relevant to aerospace applications (e.g., aero-thermo-structural coupling, fluid-structure interaction, electromagnetics).
- Prior experience in modelling and simulation of complex aerospace systems.
- Knowledge of various aerospace subsystems and their interactions.
- Experience with space launch vehicles, satellites, aircraft, or defence systems.
