Job Description

BitOasis is seeking a proactive and experienced Sr. Compliance & Licensing Specialist to drive the company's readiness for new regulatory licenses across the UAE and international jurisdictions within the virtual assets and related sectors. The role will focus on end-to-end license application management from initial research to submission, regulatory engagement, and operational readiness while ensuring the company's compliance framework remains robust, up-to-date, and aligned with evolving requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Licensing Responsibilities

  • Research and analyse licensing requirements across the UAE and other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide insights on emerging obligations.
  • Advise senior management on strategic risks and opportunities tied to licensing.
  • Lead preparation, coordination, and submission of license applications, policies, and related documentation ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage direct engagement with regulators, including responses to queries and requests for information.
  • Coordinate and deliver system walkthroughs, demos, and process explanations to regulators.
  • Track, monitor, and follow up on licensing applications and approvals.
  • Draft, implement, and update policies, frameworks, and SOPs tied to licensing requirements.
  • Ensure internal processes and systems are aligned with licensing commitments and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate with Public Policy to align licensing applications with broader stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Support internal teams in preparing for regulatory audits, inspections, and due diligence reviews.
  • Carry out Compliance testing for various projects.

Compliance Responsibilities

  • Oversee implementation of AML, CTF, and sanctions compliance requirements.
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies, manuals, frameworks, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor effectiveness of controls, including KYC, transaction monitoring, and reporting obligations via compliance monitoring / testing
  • Support delivery of staff training on compliance and regulatory obligations.
  • Assist with the required internal and external reporting requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in compliance, preferably within the Virtual Assets (VA) or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of licensing frameworks and regulatory processes in the UAE and other global jurisdictions.
  • Experience in Compliance Process, testing, Documentation.
