Lenovo is hiring a Sr. Legal Counsel, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to be part of our Europe and META Region Legal Team. The role reports directly to Lenovo's EMEA General Counsel.


Your responsibility will be as a generalist, to handle a wide range of legal matters arising from Lenovo's rapidly expanding operations in Saudi Arabia. This includes contract drafting and negotiation, supporting direct sales, marketing and advertising activities, handling issues arising from our channel business, ensuring compliance with competition laws, ensuring compliance with local laws (including Sharia law) and regulations, ensuring ethical conduct of all of Lenovo's employees (which involves proactively training to employees, advising employees and in some cases investigating conduct), handling and advising on employment law issues, and handling commercial disputes and litigation.


As a successful candidate for this role, you have demonstrated the ability to:

. Develop and implement legal processes to help support business teams minimize legal risks for Lenovo
. Communicate effectively, both within Saudi Arabia and to colleges globally from many diverse backgrounds, in a manner that is clear and proactive, about legal and business matters, providing good risk/benefit analysis and guidance to internal stakeholders
. Collaborate with fellow internal legal counsels within EMEA, including subject matter experts across various specialist areas of law, technology experts, marketing and sales leaders, product developers, Lenovo's manufacturing team, as well as with Lenovo's customers and suppliers


As an ideal candidate you have the following skillsets and characteristics:

. 12 + years of legal experience within a law firm or as in-house counsel in the areas of law mentioned above
. Law degree from a local or internationally recognized University
. Arabic and English (native speaker level) both in writing (particularly in legal drafting) and speaking
. Proven track record in building strong, trust-based relationships with internal clients
. Ability to interface with customers and members of large organizations and across multiple functions
. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle the competing demands of business clients
. Client service and results-orientated
. Able to balance risk with desired business outcomes and provide proactive and constructive business-supportive legal advice
