Sr. Design Engineer – Instrumentation & Control

We are hiring a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer for a large-scale Thermal Power Generation Project in Saudi Arabia. This role will support the Client team and be responsible for design review coordination, engineering management, and Instrumentation & Control design oversight for EPC-delivered project activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate design review activities with EPC contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders

• Review Instrumentation & Control engineering documents submitted by EPC contractors

• Review Master Document Lists (MDL), design criteria, P&IDs, GA/Layout drawings, and engineering documentation

• Review engineering calculations, technical studies, and verify design submissions

• Review CFD modeling and support technical validation activities where required

• Support review of manuals, construction procedures, installation methods, and commissioning documentation

• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) when required and review FAT procedures and reports

• Review commissioning, reliability, and performance test procedures and reports

• Participate in vendor and procurement review activities including supplier drawings and technical documentation

• Review design modifications, field changes, IFC / AFC / AFI drawings, red markups, and as-built drawings

• Support review of HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, risk assessments, and mitigation activities

• Support evaluation of claims, change orders, and close-out documentation

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project design alignment and compliance

• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with international standards and project requirements

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering approved by the Saudi Council of Engineers

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in large Thermal Power Projects

• Strong experience in EPC engineering review and design coordination activities

• Experience reviewing Instrumentation & Control engineering deliverables and project documentation

• Experience with Steam Power Plant / Gas Conversion / LSTK projects preferred

• Strong understanding of P&IDs, FAT, commissioning, reliability, and performance testing procedures

• Experience with HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL studies preferred

• Thorough knowledge of international engineering standards and design practices

• Proficiency in relevant engineering design software and MS Office tools

• Familiarity with MIS and project documentation systems

• Excellent communication and leadership skills
