Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Sr. Engineer – IP Planning to join our network engineering team. The role will be responsible for IP network capacity planning, architecture, optimization, network development, and long-term infrastructure planning to ensure network reliability, scalability, and enhanced customer experience.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in IP/MPLS network planning and architecture, with a proven background in telecom/service provider or large-scale enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform IP network capacity planning and architecture activities to improve network KPIs, service performance, and customer experience.
- Analyze network utilization, traffic trends, capacity requirements, and potential bottlenecks to proactively mitigate network failures.
- Develop and implement short-term and long-term network development and expansion plans.
- Coordinate with Design, Operations, Vendors, and internal technical teams to ensure optimal network and equipment utilization.
- Review existing network architecture and recommend enhancements, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.
- Support the implementation of network projects in line with engineering standards, objectives, priorities, and procedures.
- Conduct network audits, capacity assessments, and infrastructure performance reviews.
- Prepare annual CWP (Capital Work Program) proposals, capacity forecasts, project requirements, and business justifications.
- Support CAPEX planning and maintain financial control of network development projects.
- Prepare technical reports, network planning documents, HLD/LLD, capacity reports, and management presentations.
- Evaluate new technologies and solutions to improve network scalability, resiliency, efficiency, and service availability.
- Work closely with vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and successful implementation of network initiatives.
Technical Requirements
- Strong expertise in IP/MPLS network planning and architecture.
- Excellent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, VPN, QoS, IPv4/IPv6.
- Experience in network capacity planning, traffic engineering, utilization analysis, and network optimization.
- Knowledge of Cisco IP networking platforms; experience with Juniper/Nokia is an advantage.
- Experience in network expansion, migration, technology upgrades, and large-scale network projects.
- Strong understanding of network KPIs, service availability, resilience, and performance management.
- Experience with network audit, CAPEX planning, budgeting, and CWP processes.
Mandatory Qualification
- CCIE Certification – Mandatory
- CCIE Service Provider (SP) preferred
- CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) also considered
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant IP Network Planning/Architecture experience.
Preferred Experience
- Telecom operator / ISP / Service Provider environment.
- Large-scale IP/MPLS backbone or business network.
- Network capacity forecasting and long-term planning.
- Vendor management and cross-functional stakeholder coordination.
- Experience with EVPN/VXLAN, Segment Routing, SD-WAN is an advantage.
