You Will
- Supervise daily operations of wastewater treatment systems including pre-treatment, filtration, neutralization, and chemical dosing
- Optimize treatment protocols to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact
- Ensure compliance with local and international discharge regulations
- Maintain system performance logs and prepare compliance reports
- Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials including paint sludge, solvents, and heavy metals
- Implement solid waste segregation, recycling, and disposal programs
- Conduct internal audits to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for waste collection and treatment
- Support sustainability initiatives such as water conservation, waste reduction, and circular economy practices
- Monitor environmental KPIs (waste, water, emissions) and report progress
- Stay updated on environmental legislation and best practices
- Promote employee awareness and training on environmental procedures
- Supervise and train technicians and junior staff in waste management operations
- Collaborate with EHS, Utilities, Paint Shop, and Engineering teams to align waste operations with production needs
- Lead emergency response efforts related to environmental incidents
You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial waste and wastewater management
- Experience in hazardous waste handling and treatment in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Strong technical knowledge of chemical, physical, and biological waste treatment methods
- Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems and environmental monitoring tools
- Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
- Effective communication and documentation abilities
- Project management and leadership capabilities
- Knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., MEWA, EPA, ISO 14001)
- Valid Wastewater Treatment Operator license (preferred)
- Proficiency in English
- Willingness to work flexible hours during emergencies or critical operations
