Contract Duration: 29 Months

Position Summary

The Senior Interior Design Engineer shall lead all Interior Design construction

supervision activities on behalf of the Interior Design Consultant (UDI) and be

responsible for ensuring that the approved design intent, specifications, quality

standards, contract requirements and project objectives are maintained throughout

construction.

The role acts as the principal interface with the Client, PMC, Main Consultant and

Contractors, as well as UDI Head Office, and has overall responsibility for technical

reviews, approvals, reporting, risk management, commercial technical support and

project close-out

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership & Design Compliance

• Ensure all interior works comply with approved design documentation,specifications, authority requirements and applicable codes.

• Review and approve interior design shop drawings, material submittals, finishes schedules, samples and mock-ups.

• Review joinery, ceiling, flooring, wall finish, sanitaryware, ironmongery and visible MEP fixture submissions.

• Provide technical interpretation of design intent and resolve site execution issues.

• Lead factory inspections and off-site quality inspections where required.

Construction Supervision

• Lead inspections of completed works and witness hold points.

• Approve mock-ups, benchmarks and sample installations.

• Verify compliance of installed works against approved shop drawings and specifications.

• Direct corrective actions for non-conforming works.

• Review contractor QA/QC procedures and inspection records.

Contractor Technical Management

• Review and approve Responses to RFIs and Technical Queries.

• Provide design clarifications and recommendations to the Client and PMC.

SITE SUPERVISION DEPLOYMENT

• Assess technical implications of contractor proposals and value engineering submissions.

• Participate in tender technical evaluations and provide recommendations on suppliers and specialist subcontractors.

Project Controls & Reporting

• Lead preparation of weekly and monthly supervision reports.

• Assess progress against baseline programmes.

• Identify delays, risks and procurement concerns.

• Recommend mitigation and recovery measures.

• Report on quality, approvals, procurement status and construction progress.

Commercial Technical Support

• Review technical aspects of payment applications.

• Advise on variations and change requests.

• Assess technical impact of scope changes.

• Support evaluation of contractor claims, extension of time requests and lossand-expense submissions related to interior works.

• Assist in preparation of variation descriptions and supplementary documentation.

Handover & Close-Out

• Lead taking-over inspections.

• Review as-built drawings.

• Review O&M manuals, warranties and guarantees.

• Coordinate handover documentation.

• Prepare final defect and close-out reports.

• Support TOC (Taking Over Certificate) procedures and final acceptance.Health, Safety & Quality Leadership

• Promote compliance with project HSE requirements.

• Ensure quality management systems are implemented.

• Participate in safety walk-downs and quality audits.
