Design Expertise:
- A strong foundation in interior design principles, including space planning, color theory, material selections and furniture layouts / arrangements and construction techniques is essential. Proficiency in using design software's such as AutoCAD, SketchUp and Microsoft is highly desirable.
- Has a keen detailed eye for developing design concepts.
- Has experience in managing and coordinating proper interior marketing visuals.
- Can readily capture the intended look and feel fit for the project purposes.
- Has a well-developed eye for scale and balance, designing elements that fit the space for maximum impact.
- Has a well-rounded knowledge in MEP and how it is connected to the ID.
- Analysing problems and proposing creative solutions with design consultants.
- Experience in managing a full design process from pre-concept to tender is a must.
Project Management:
- Experience in managing multiple projects within timelines and budgets in an organized manner.
- Has experience in coordinating with project managers, architects, MEP engineers, Structural engineers and other stakeholders involved in the project.
- Has experience working on site with a creative problem solving mentality and can actively review construction drawings whenever needed.
- Conduct site visits and monitor projects progress, address any design or constriction issues to the involved internal teams and ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Has the ability to fully snag spaces and joinery units as needed throughout the projects progress.
- Has experience in reviewing and responding to RFIs and RFPs for projects.
Leadership and Mentoring:
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Has previous experience of managing a small-large scale ID team.
- Has experience providing guidance to other team members and can motivate and nurture young talent.
- Can manage workflow and ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Prepares or regular team meetings pertaining to project tasks, deliverables and milestones.
Industry Knowledge:
- Up to date with design trends, materials, and technologies advancements.
- Awareness of local building codes, regulations and environmental suitability practices.
- Familiar with all key suppliers in the city and internationally for sourcing materials and FF+E.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Open minded and enthusiastic, always willing to learn and seeking the bigger picture while working with the rest of the departments involved in bringing a project to life.
- Excellent communication skills for colleagues within the team, suppliers, consultants and contractors.
- Active listening and understanding for project goals and key success factors determined by upper management.
- Flexibility in working on different design challenges.
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Master's Degree in Interior Design.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects.
- Has to have experience in residential property design.
- Must has experience working in the UAE.
Plus:
- Previous developer experience is a plus.
- Previous experience managing a small scale team is a plus.
- Has previous experience developing art packages for projects.
- Has experience in hospitality design.
