  • Provide technical oversight, mentoring, and assurance for work produced by senior reliability and reliability engineers.

Maintenance Strategy

  • Define, own, and govern portfolio-level electrical maintenance strategies across all assigned plants, ensuring reliable service delivery within approved budgetary, safety, and risk constraints.
  • Define and approve long-term electrical maintenance strategies aligned with asset lifecycle stages, reliability targets, and business objectives.
  • Ensure consistency and alignment of electrical maintenance strategies, methodologies, and standards across all plants and facilities.
  • Govern high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage electrical safety requirements, including Electrical Safety Procedures (ESP), isolation philosophies, and safe systems of work.
  • Provide technical governance and final authority over the Permit-to-Work (PTW) framework for electrical maintenance activities, ensuring correct application, authorization, and compliance for energized and de-energized work.
  • Coordinate with relevant managers and stakeholders to develop, maintain, and review electrical system design, protection philosophy, and system test plans to ensure sustained and optimal system performance.
  • Review, validate, and optimize electrical preventive maintenance (PM) strategies and maintenance frequencies based on asset criticality, failure behavior, condition monitoring outputs, and operating context.
  • Verify that preventive maintenance activities are technically adequate, correctly scoped, and executed as intended, including periodic and random audits of PM quality and effectiveness.
  • Assess the continued suitability of time-based maintenance and approve migration to condition-based or risk-based maintenance strategies where technically justified.
  • Provide expert technical input to asset criticality classification, maintenance prioritization, and capital investment decisions, including major upgrades and asset replacement.
  • Guide and oversee electrical maintenance work processes to ensure they are structured, effective, and consistently implemented in support of reliability and availability objectives
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and third-party service providers to ensure technically sound, high-quality, and cost-effective maintenance and overhaul services.
  • Provide technical approval and oversight for changes to electrical maintenance strategies, plans, frequencies, or task content through the Management of Change (MOC) process.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Based on criticality analysis and performance information (reliability, performance and cost): defines and optimizes maintenance plans (balance reliability/performance and cost) - details a spare part policy
