Project Manager – Abu Dhabi (On‑Prem / Regional Delivery)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the on‑site delivery of our major strategic projects in MEA .

This role is on‑premise during the project execution phase. Upon successful project completion, the Project Manager will take responsibility for managing and coordinating all projects within the MEA region territory, operating under governance defined by our Headquarter Project Management Office (PMO).

Governance, standards, and methodology are centrally defined by the HQ PMO, while day‑to‑day project execution, local coordination, and stakeholder management are handled by the regional team and the Project Manager.

The ideal candidate must possess extensive knowledge of airport operations, aviation applications, and the aviation industry, along with strong experience managing complex IT and ICT infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery (Initial Major Project)

• Lead end‑to‑end on‑site delivery of a major projects in MEA region, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
• Act as the single point of contact on site for local stakeholders, customers, partners, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with HQ PMO governance, standards, tools, and reporting requirements.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests proactively.
• Coordinate local resources, subcontractors, and regional teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Provide structured and transparent status reporting to HQ PMO and senior stakeholders.

Post‑Project: Territory Project Management

• Assume responsibility for all projects within the MEA territory after completion of the initial major project.
• Implement and sustain HQ‑defined PMO governance, processes, and controls at regional level.
• Ensure consistent application of project management methodology across all territorial projects.
• Support portfolio planning, prioritization, and regional capacity management in coordination with HQ PMO.
• Act as a bridge between HQ PMO and regional execution, escalating risks and decisions when required.

Governance & Collaboration

• Follow centrally defined standards for planning, execution, reporting, risk management, and project closure.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by feeding lessons learned and regional insights back to the HQ PMO.
• Participate in PMO reviews, audits, and governance forums as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Professional Experience

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a Project Manager delivering complex projects.
• Proven background on managing and supporting the delivery of airport IT & aviation systems projects.
• Proven experience managing on‑site / on‑premise projects, preferably in MEA or the GCC region.
• Prior experience working in organizations with a central PMO governance model is highly preferred.
• Strong background in stakeholder management across customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Experience transitioning from single‑project leadership to multi‑project or territory‑level responsibility is a strong advantage.
• Willingness to travel frequently across MEA region.

Technical & Methodological Skills

• Solid understanding of standard project management methodologies (PMBOK®, PRINCE2®, Agile / Hybrid).
• Strong skills in planning, budgeting, risk & issue management, and reporting.
• Comfortable working with PMO tools, dashboards, and structured governance frameworks.
• PMP®, PRINCE2®, or equivalent certification is preferred.

• Ability to work independently while strictly adhering to HQ governance.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Culturally aware and capable of operating effectively in a MEA business environment.

Language & Location Requirements

• Fluent nglish (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Based in Abu Dhabi or willing to relocate.
• Availability for full on‑site presence during the initial project phase.

Reporting Line & Operating Model

• Functionally reports to regional operational teams for daily execution.
• Works closely with Headquarter Project Management Office (PMO).
• Governance, standards, and escalation managed centrally by HQ PMO
