JOB PURPOSE
The job holder will be responsible to provide design, planning and technical co-ordination expertise within a multidisciplinary design office. He/she will also be responsible for monitoring the project during the various stages of construction to ensure that the construction is in line with the approved architectural plans
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Planning and managing projects from concept design to practical completion stage.
2. Obtaining and defining the project brief, development of the initial brief into a concept proposal & its presentations to the user.
3. Ensuring design development and detailed documentation is in line with the concept design.
4. Managing the design process to provide value added solutions and ensuring high quality and cost effective on time solutions.
5. Supervising and coordinating Architectural design and drawings with other disciplines.
6. Checking of detailed design drawings and compilation of specifications for tender issue.
7. Compiling and submitting application to Dubai Municipality and other authorities as and when required.
8. Preparing tender drawings and documentation and reviewing BOQ.
9. Independently handling the review and approval of shop drawings and submittals.
10. Supervising the execution of works at the site to ensure their conformity with the drawings, specifications, acceptable industry practices and adherence to terms and condition of the contract documents.
11. Reviewing and submitting site progress report to the Senior Management and providing appropriate comments and recommendations.
12. Assisting Senior Management with development and review of standard specification and design guidelines.
13. Providing the contractor with all the necessary clarifications pertaining to drawings and specifications.
14. Reviewing and approving handover documentation in order to facilitate technical closure of the projects.
15. Training and developing draftsmen and monitoring their performance.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Years of Experience- Minimum 7-10 years of relevant work experience
Nature of Experience - Prior experience within a multi-disciplinary environment and good knowledge of site based construction activities and coordination.
Good understanding of Architectural Desktop or AutoCAD, Revit, Studio Max, Photoshop, Sketch-up and Autodesk VIZ desirable.

Project programming and resourcing as well as tracking
Technical Coordination with supporting disciplines
Coordination and monitoring work of contractors and suppliers
Produce tender documentation, detailed drawing packages and written specifications
Knowledge of construction detailing and material properties within budgetary guidelines
