Role & Mission

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will set the technical direction for the entire engineering organization. You will own our most critical, high-stakes, and ambiguous technical bets—decisions that will shape our product architecture and engineering trajectory for years to come. Acting as a force multiplier across multiple teams, your technical judgment and architectural standards will create an impact felt org-wide.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Direction: Own the architectural strategy for complex, ambiguous problems across team and organizational boundaries.

Multi-Year Architectural Bets: Make foundational platform decisions that scale our product over multiple years, taking full accountability for their long-term execution and reliability.

AI Platform Strategy: Drive the technical strategy to rebuild our platform around AI capabilities and autonomous agents, translating high-level vision into actionable execution plans.

Raise the Engineering Bar: Establish org-wide engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices that elevate overall system quality.

Force Multiplier: Multiply the output of senior engineers across the organization through design guidance, rigorous code/architecture reviews, and active mentorship.

Strategic Partnership: Partner as a peer with Engineering and Product leadership to align technology strategy with long-term business goals.

We expect our Staff Engineers to set the benchmark for what AI-native engineering looks like at the highest level. You will utilize AI agents and automated workflows to accelerate complex design, investigation, and implementation work. Beyond personal productivity, you will define the AI engineering practices adopted across the company and identify step-change bets where AI fundamentally reshapes how we build software.

Org-Wide Impact: A proven track record of setting technical direction that shaped a product or platform across an entire engineering organization.

Distributed Systems Mastery: Deep technical expertise in distributed systems architecture, with a firm command of reliability, scalability, performance, and cost tradeoffs behind company-defining decisions.

Leadership Under Ambiguity: Excellent judgment to make high-stakes technical calls under ambiguity, along with the influence needed to align cross-functional engineering teams behind them.

Work Schedule & Overlap Requirements

Setup: Hybrid arrangement based out of our Bangalore office.

Hours: Ability to work required global overlap hours from Monday through Thursday, 8:00 PM – 11:30 PM IST.
