Job Description

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, and optimization of complex optical systems and components for sensor products.
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple optics development programs and technology initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership for optical subsystem integration with MEMS, mechanical, electronics, software, and overall sensor system architectures.
  • Lead the investigation and resolution of complex optical performance characterization, alignment, reliability, and integration challenges.
  • Define and review optical requirements, specifications, tolerances, performance budgets, and validation strategies.
  • Guide optical technology selection, feasibility assessments, and innovation initiatives.
  • Review and approve optical designs, technical analyses, test methodologies, and engineering documentation.
  • Mentor senior and junior optics engineers and contribute to technical capability development.
  • Drive technical decision-making and trade-off analyses across multiple development programs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, research institutions, and external partners on technology evaluations, component selection, and qualification activities.
  • Support new technology development, proof-of-concept activities, product roadmaps, and innovation initiatives.
  • Contribute & Lead IP development activities, patent initiatives, proof-of-concepts, and prototypes.
  • Promote continuous improvement of optics engineering methodologies, tools, processes, and design practices.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, Applied Physics, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's or PhD degree is an advantage.
  • 5+ years of experience in optical system design, development, characterization, and sensor-related technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of optical design principles, imaging systems, photonics, optical modeling, characterization, and performance analysis.
  • Expert-level experience with optical design and simulation tools.
  • Extensive Knowledge with optical laboratory equipment, testing methodologies, and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong technical leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary product development environments.
  • Familiarity with any scripting language is preferable.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Excellent command of English language.
  • Teamwork orientation, effective verbal & written communication skills, have tendency towards creativity & innovation.
  • Able to pro-actively communicate with different teams and work under pressure.
