Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based at GEMS Academy Alexandria in Alexandria, Egypt. The STEM and Robotics Early Years educator will design and deliver age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences that introduce young learners to basic STEM concepts and foundational robotics skills using child-friendly tools and resources. Responsibilities include planning and implementing engaging lessons, integrating STEM and robotics into the broader early years curriculum, and creating a safe, supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and problem-solving. The educator will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adapt activities for diverse learning needs and language backgrounds. The role also involves collaborating with colleagues and families, contributing to school events, and participating in ongoing professional development to align with the school's educational standards and ethos.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in STEM education for early years, including basic science, mathematics, and technology concepts adapted to young learners.
  • Experience with introductory robotics and coding tools suitable for children, such as simple robots, block-based coding platforms, or interactive STEM kits.
  • Strong classroom management, child-centered pedagogy, and the ability to design playful, inquiry-based learning activities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teaching teams.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, STEM-related field, or a closely related discipline.
  • Prior teaching experience with early years or primary-age students, preferably in an international or bilingual school environment.
  • Ability to support inclusive education, differentiate instruction, and respond to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic or French is an advantage.
  • Commitment to the school's ethos that every child matters and to fostering creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and respect.
