About the Role

This is not just a store management role—it is about leading one of the world's most iconic toy brands in one of Dubai's most prestigious destinations. As Store Manager of Hamleys Atlantis, The Palm, you will be the custodian of the Hamleys DNA: delivering magic, theatre, and world-class retail experiences that bring joy to children and families from across the globe.

The role requires a commercially driven leader who can balance high performance with exceptional customer experiences. You will be accountable for day-to-day operations, the performance of your team, and achieving ambitious commercial targets while embodying the spirit and heritage of Hamleys.

Job Responsibilities

Store Performance & Experience

  • Lead all store operations with a relentless focus on commercial performance and customer experience.
  • Ensure world-class standards in visual merchandising, store presentation, and atmosphere, befitting the prestige of Atlantis.
  • Develop and nurture client relationships, building loyalty with both international visitors and the UAE community.
  • Manage inventory and stock flow, ensuring bestsellers are always available and aging stock is effectively managed.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to senior management and buying teams, sharing insights on product performance, customer preferences, and emerging trends.
  • Champion upselling, cross-selling, and experiential retailing to maximize sales and guest engagement.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a diverse team to deliver the Hamleys DNA of fun, theatre, and excellence every day.
  • Ensure your team embodies the brand image: well-groomed, professional, and always enthusiastic.
  • Deliver ongoing coaching, training, and performance management to upskill and retain top talent.
  • Foster a positive, high-energy environment where staff are engaged, motivated, and aligned with Hamleys values.
  • Uphold company policies, standards, and procedures while instilling a culture of ownership and accountability.

Commercial & Operational Excellence

  • Drive sales performance and deliver against set KPIs and budget objectives.
  • Maintain tight control of store P&L, costs, and cash management.
  • Uphold Hamleys standards for service, safety, and compliance at all times.
  • Provide accurate reporting on sales performance, customer insights, and operational efficiency.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achievement of sales targets and profitability objectives.
  • Excellence in customer service, reflected in guest satisfaction and repeat visits.
  • Team motivation, performance, and retention.
  • Standards of visual merchandising, product availability, and store presentation.
  • Accuracy and timeliness of reporting, stock management, and operational processes.

Job Specifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in managing a high-profile, high-performing retail store (luxury, premium, or experiential retail preferred).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with a proven record of building and motivating winning teams.
  • Commercially astute with strong reporting and analytical ability.
  • Highly presentable, polished, and confident in engaging with an international clientele.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • A leader who embodies energy, passion, and the spirit of Hamleys theatre.
