Role overview and responsibilities:

The Store manager is responsible for managing the sales, profitability, operations, asset protection and people function of the stores within the given territory. He/she is responsible to motivate, train and inspire their team to achieve productivity and sales goals.

Job Description

  • Achieve store sales targets and KPIs while ensuring full compliance with DAMAS standards. Maintain excellent product knowledge of DAMAS and competitor products, deliver superior customer service in line with DSCE, and ensure 100% stock accuracy.
  • Ensure strict adherence to store timings, work schedules, staff attendance, and grooming standards. Safely maintain custody of store keys and ensure all security standards (CCTV, alarms, etc.) are met.
  • Communicate sales plans clearly to the team, ensure all sales staff contribute to target achievement, and assist in customer handling when required by understanding customer needs, providing accurate product and pricing information, and resolving sales difficulties.
  • Ensure outlet upkeep in terms of tidiness, product display, store security, and overall DAMAS standards. Monitor proper functioning and accuracy of weighing scales, calculators, diamond testers, and other equipment.
  • Oversee stock control including regular counting of jewellery and certified diamonds, printing audit reports as per procedures, participating in stock-taking, and conducting jewellery inspections to identify items requiring cleaning, polishing, rhodium, or other corrective actions, removing non-conforming products from display or stock.
  • Ensure accurate invoicing with no discrepancies in cash or credit transactions, monitor repair orders through Navision for timely delivery, check customer bookings at least twice a month, and ensure complete adherence to store operational procedures (Blueprint).
  • Maintain adequate inventory of all packing materials for branded and non-branded jewellery, store them properly, and report shortages immediately. Manage petty cash as per Finance guidelines with timely submission and approvals.
  • Handle staff grievances as per HR policies, maintain high team motivation and energy levels, conduct annual performance appraisals in line with DAMAS standards, and actively develop a strong talent pipeline while staying updated on current market trends.
