Role Overview
The Stores Officer is responsible for overseeing inventory operations across multiple infrastructure projects, ensuring efficient material management, accurate stock control, and proper coordination between sites. The role also includes supervising storekeepers and standardizing store practices across all project locations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in handling construction materials, tools, and equipment, with a minimum of 5 years experience working on construction projects within the UAE.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor store operations across multiple project sites (roads, highways, bridges)
- Supervise, guide, and evaluate storekeepers to ensure compliance with company procedures
- Ensure uniform implementation of inventory control systems and store processes across all locations
- Coordinate material receipt, inspection, and distribution for multiple sites
- Monitor stock levels project-wise and consolidate requirements for timely procurement
- Track movement of materials between sites and maintain proper documentation
- Review and validate store records including GRNs, material issue vouchers, and stock registers
- Conduct periodic audits and surprise checks to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies
- Analyze material consumption, wastage, and stock variances across projects
- Coordinate with procurement, planning, and site teams to align material availability with project schedules
- Ensure proper storage and handling of construction materials including steel, cement, asphalt, and bridge components
- Enforce HSE standards and proper housekeeping in all store locations
- Prepare consolidated inventory and usage reports for management review
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in infrastructure projects (roads & bridges), with multi-site exposure
- Experience in Roads, Bridges, or Infrastructure works is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and inventory systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or inventory management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple site requirements.
