Job Title: Strategic Partnership Advisor

Location: Preferably Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or United Arab Emirates.

Your Impact: As the Strategic Partnership Advisor, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships among partners and donors developing and implementing strategies that successfully position Pathfinder International within the GCC region, resulting in increased revenue for the organization. Reporting directly to the Vice President, Strategic Engagement and Innovation, you will closely with the Regional Portfolio Director of the region, and in partnership with Country Directors and Business Development, to set fundraising targets, create new fundraising and business development opportunities to support the delivery of Pathfinder's mission. You will work with partners, foundations, corporations and governments to build and expand the region's program portfolio revenue to deliver on Pathfinder's mission and sustain Pathfinder globally through GCC connections and donors

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic partnership and revenue generation:

  • Identify and pursue fundraising/revenue sources across government, corporate, foundation, individual, and other donors in the GCC countries
  • Work with Vice President, Strategic Engagement and Innovation, Regional Portfolio Director and Country Directors to develop targets for the countries and region.
  • Contribute to overall strategy for how funds will be sourced and develop proactive outreach strategies.
  • Build a detailed landscape of strategic local partners, assessing their comparative strengths and capacities for possible inclusion in the country program's proposal and business development initiatives.
  • Develop scopes of work and teaming agreements with local partners in the GCC countries.
  • Work with Global Business Development to evaluate roles and Scope of Work for global level partners.
  • Liaise with institutional, private sector, and individual giving programs on building new donor relationships and generating new program opportunities.

Visibility and Landscape Analysis:


  • Stays current on the competitive landscape for Pathfinder's sectoral interests.
  • Evaluate comparative strengths and weaknesses and complementarities of organizations working in the region.
  • Stays current on Pathfinder's comparative advantage and strengths at both the country and regional levels and advises on alignment with Pathfinder's organizational strategy for GCC donors.
  • Represent Pathfinder programs and achievements with GCC donors, in coordination with Business Development Unit.
  • Monitor project donor and government report development and contribute to answering questions from donors or government about reports and project progress.
  • Supports with the revisions and updates capability statements to be shared with partners and donors as required.

This position may assist in the proposal development process on major high value efforts.


What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, communications, marketing or related field, or a combination of education and experience in partnership and business development within the SRHR and/or international NGO sector.
  • 10 years relevant work experience in partnership and business development with international NGO, donor engagement and/or global health sector.
  • Work experience with an international organization and with GCC donors.
  • Knowledge of GCC donor agencies and their funding priorities and associated regulations
  • Ability to network and manage multiple complex pursuits.
  • Knowledge of corporate and foundation fundraising, including standards and guidelines for writing proposals and managing overall corporate and foundation solicitation efforts and impact investments.
  • Knowledge of current issues, emerging funding trends and research in development.
  • Knowledge and experience in creation of communications materials and coordination of communications events for organization.
  • Proven writing and speaking skills using English language

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in business management, communications, marketing or related field, or a combination of education and experience in partnership and business development within the SRHR and/or international NGO sector.
  • Knowledge and experience in the principles of development and impact investment, including program strategies and indicators.
  • Experience with non-USAID-funded projects
  • Experience living or working in the GCC countries that aids in understanding of program context, field realities, and technical needs
  • Fluency in Arabic
