The role demands strong technical expertise, independent working capability, and full ownership of assigned stress analysis activities across project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

1. Piping Stress Analysis Support

  • Perform detailed piping stress analysis modelling and analysis for projects designed by the Process Engineering Department (PED).
  • Analyze piping systems under various loading conditions, including:
  • Sustained loads
  • Thermal expansion
  • Occasional loads (wind, seismic)
  • Equipment nozzle loads and flexibility checks

2. Stress Modelling & Engineering Calculations

  • Develop accurate stress analysis models using approved stress analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II or equivalent).
  • Review piping layouts, isometrics, and P&IDs to ensure modelling accuracy.
  • Generate and review stress calculation reports, ensuring technical correctness and engineering judgment.

3. Site Verification & Field Support

  • Conduct site visits to verify existing piping networks.
  • Compare existing site conditions with piping isometrics and drawings to identify discrepancies.
  • Update stress models to reflect actual as-built conditions for accurate analysis.
  • Provide technical recommendations for modifications or corrective actions based on site findings.

4. Independent Ownership & Accountability

  • Take full responsibility and ownership of all stress analysis activities assigned.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting project schedules and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate directly with PED, piping designers, and other engineering disciplines to resolve stress-related issues.
  • Address technical queries, deviations, and design changes related to stress analysis.

5. Documentation & Engineering Deliverables

  • Prepare and maintain:
  • Stress analysis reports
  • Design calculations
  • Technical justifications and compliance documents
  • Ensure all deliverables meet internal engineering procedures and client requirements.

Experience & Skill Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in piping stress analysis for industrial projects (oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of piping codes, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with site-based verification and brownfield projects is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordination with engineering teams and stakeholders.
