Role Description The Structural Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. This role involves performing structural analysis and design for buildings and infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with relevant codes and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and reviewing structural drawings and models, coordinating with architectural and MEP teams, and preparing design calculations and technical reports. The Structural Design Engineer collaborates with project managers and other engineering disciplines to resolve design issues, optimize structural solutions, and support construction teams during implementation. The role also includes participating in design reviews, applying quality assurance procedures, and staying current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to practical design solutions.
- Proficiency in Structural Analysis, including the use of relevant methods and tools to evaluate loads, behavior, and performance of structural systems.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools, including AutoCAD, for preparing and reviewing detailed structural drawings and models.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Knowledge of local and international building codes, standards, and regulations related to structural design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with experience collaborating in multidisciplinary project environments.
- Prior experience in consulting engineering firms or on large-scale projects in the MENA region is an advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
