Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Draughtsman to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate structural drawings, shop drawings, reinforcement detailing, and as-built drawings for residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. The role requires close coordination with structural engineers, architects, consultants, and site teams to ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, local authority regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, shop drawings, reinforcement detailing, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
- Produce structural plans, elevations, sections, foundation layouts, framing plans, and structural details.
- Prepare reinforcement (rebar) detailing and bar bending schedules (BBS), where required.
- Coordinate structural drawings with architectural, civil, and MEP disciplines to identify and resolve design clashes.
- Revise drawings based on engineer, consultant, and client comments.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, structural design requirements, and company drafting standards.
- Prepare material schedules, quantity take-offs, and drawing registers as required.
- Maintain document control, drawing revisions, and project records.
- Attend coordination meetings and provide drafting support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions and update as-built drawings.
- Ensure timely completion of drawings in accordance with project schedules.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related discipline.
- AutoCAD certification or equivalent drafting qualification is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Structural Draughtsman.
- Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in structural concrete and steel detailing is preferred.
- GCC/UAE experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with local authority requirements and construction standards is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory).
- Working knowledge of Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD Structural Detailing, or similar software is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and structural steel detailing.
- Ability to read and interpret structural calculations, engineering drawings, and construction specifications.
- Knowledge of reinforcement detailing, bar bending schedules, and structural drafting standards.
