China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC ME) is recruiting a Structural Engineer with expertise in temporary steel and concrete structures. The candidate will be responsible for designing and calculating temporary structural systems, including steel frames, bracings, concrete foundations, and lifting points. The role includes guiding drafting staff, providing technical support during construction, and ensuring all temporary works comply with international codes, UAE regulations, and safety standards.
Requirements:
• Design and calculate temporary steel structures, including frames, bracings, supports, and lifting arrangements.
• Design and calculate temporary concrete elements, including foundations, supports, embedded items, and lifting points.
• Conduct structural analysis for stability, load-bearing capacity, and deflection under construction loads.
• Ensure all designs comply with project specifications, international standards (BS, Eurocodes, ACI), and UAE regulations.
• Provide technical guidance on the erection, lifting, and handling of temporary steel and concrete structures on site.
• Review construction methods and verify that temporary works are safe, practical, and efficient.
• Collaborate with site teams to resolve technical challenges during installation or construction.
• Guide drafting staff to produce accurate structural drawings, lifting layouts, and foundation plans.
• Review and verify drawings for consistency with calculations, design assumptions, and safety
requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of drawings for construction execution.
• Prepare detailed calculation notes, design reports, method statements, and risk assessments.
• Maintain records of design assumptions, material specifications, and technical correspondence.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in structural design.
• Strong knowledge of steel/concrete design codes, lifting and handling of precast elements, and temporary works.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software & Experience in bridge structural design
• Excellent written and spoken English.
