We are looking for a
Structural Engineer to join our construction team in the UAE.
The ideal candidate will have
at least 2-3 years of hands-on structural engineering experience in the UAE, with strong knowledge of structural design, site execution, drawings, inspections and coordination with consultants and contractors.
The candidate should be comfortable working in a construction/project environment and be able to coordinate effectively with site teams, consultants and other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret structural drawings, specifications and technical documents
- Monitor structural works at site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors and site teams regarding structural works
- Conduct site inspections and identify structural issues or discrepancies
- Review structural calculations, shop drawings and method statements where required
- Coordinate structural design requirements with architectural, MEP and other disciplines
- Provide technical support to the construction team during execution
- Identify and resolve structural issues arising during construction
- Monitor the quality and progress of structural works
- Assist with preparation and review of RFIs, technical submissions and other project documentation
- Ensure structural works are executed in accordance with applicable UAE standards, approved drawings and project specifications
- Participate in meetings with consultants, contractors and project stakeholders
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to structural works
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Structural Engineering experience in the UAE is mandatory
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete and/or structural steel construction
- Practical knowledge of structural drawings, detailing and site execution
- Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors and site teams
- Ability to identify and resolve structural issues on site
- Good knowledge of construction methods and structural engineering principles
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
- Knowledge of structural analysis/design software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro or similar is preferred
- Experience working on residential, commercial or high-rise construction projects in the UAE
- Experience dealing with UAE consultants and authorities
- Familiarity with UAE construction standards, specifications and approval procedures
- UAE engineering accreditation/registration will be an advantage
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary construction team
