This position involves providing technical leadership and oversight for the structural design and site execution of complex building projects, with a particular emphasis on healthcare and institutional facilities. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in structural engineering design, construction supervision, and multidisciplinary coordination, along with a strong understanding of local and international codes.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading structural design efforts, reviewing construction practices on-site, and ensuring the delivery of robust and code-compliant structural systems. You will collaborate closely with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and clients to deliver high-performance, safe, and cost-effective structural solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the preparation and review of design documentation, including structural drawings, calculations, specifications, and BOQs.
- Supervise construction activities on-site to ensure structural works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, and applicable codes (e.g., ACI, BS, Eurocode, IBC).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and MEP consultants, to ensure seamless integration of structural systems with other building services.
- Perform technical reviews of contractor submittals including shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
- Conduct site inspections and technical audits to verify the quality and safety of structural installations.
- Identify and resolve design and construction-related issues in collaboration with site teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare structural assessment reports, progress updates, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support value engineering initiatives and recommend design optimizations where applicable.
- Participate in project meetings, design coordination sessions, and authority submissions as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized university; a Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with substantial involvement in healthcare, hospital, or large-scale institutional projects.
- Proven track record of leading structural design and construction supervision on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong command of structural analysis and design software.
- In-depth knowledge of international and local structural codes and standards.
- Experience in seismic design, foundation systems, and structural detailing for complex buildings.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts, project delivery processes, and coordination with supervision consultants.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognized engineering institution is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working on-site in the GCC region or similar environments is a plus.
