The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Structural Engineering Lead / Building Inspection Manager to provide technical leadership across structural assessments, building inspections, engineering reviews, and condition evaluations. The successful candidate will combine strong structural engineering knowledge with practical inspection experience and sound technical judgment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead structural engineering assessments, building inspections, condition surveys, and technical investigations.
- Develop inspection scopes, methodologies, schedules, resources, and reporting requirements.
- Review structural drawings, engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and technical submissions.
- Assess structural systems, building components, defects, deterioration, and potential safety risks.
- Identify construction deficiencies, material deterioration, structural damage, and maintenance concerns.
- Analyze inspection findings and recommend appropriate repair, strengthening, maintenance, or monitoring measures.
- Coordinate engineers, inspectors, consultants, contractors, and other technical stakeholders.
- Review structural designs and technical proposals against applicable project requirements.
- Support structural analysis, load assessments, failure investigations, and engineering evaluations where required.
- Establish inspection procedures, checklists, technical standards, and quality-control processes.
- Review inspection reports and ensure findings, evidence, and recommendations are clearly documented.
- Monitor corrective actions, remediation work, and outstanding structural issues.
- Assess technical risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with architects, project managers, facilities teams, contractors, and clients.
- Prepare engineering reports, condition assessments, management summaries, and technical recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, asset reliability, safety, and engineering quality.
- 3+ years of professional experience in structural engineering, building inspection, construction, structural assessment, or a related field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
- Strong understanding of structural systems, construction methods, materials, defects, and building-condition assessment.
- Experience reviewing structural drawings, calculations, specifications, inspection reports, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with structural inspection, defect identification, structural assessment, and remediation practices.
- Strong analytical, technical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical standards, inspection findings, and project requirements.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams, consultants, contractors, or inspectors.
- Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Proficiency with engineering, inspection, spreadsheet, reporting, and digital collaboration tools.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and technical quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple engineering priorities within a remote environment.
- Professional certifications are not required unless specifically relevant to the position.
