Job Purpose / Objective
Summary of the main purpose of the job as the basic function and scope of the job in terms of organization, geographic areas supported, financial or other volume/size metrics, strategic impact, and nature of supervision received or exercised related to the job in a descriptive manner To work closely together with the supervisor, superintendent, manager and the project team to ensure that all assigned projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS). The candidate must be able to collaborate with other departments and communicate results and concerns to the project management team. Works under pressure and drives a group to completion against aggressive timelines and work scopes. 3.
Key Accountabilities

- Ensure all assigned works are executed safely on time.
- Ensure that all technical drawings and documentation, such as WPS, Weld Maps and PQR are followed.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Secure a valid work permit (Hot/Cold/Isolation, etc.) prior to initiating any activity.
- Attend safety and daily toolbox meetings and under the risk involved with the job.
- Perform the welding according to the specific codes and follow the drawings.
- Monitor materials usage to ensure possible shortages are identified and addressed at the earliest possible opportunity.
- Follow pre-welding preparations carefully, inspect finished welds, and confirm they meet standards of excellence.
- Inspect the equipment and tools they use while performing their job and maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education Technical Diploma or equivalent qualification Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations) Certified 3G, 4G, 3F, 4F welder (Class Certified).
Requirements
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Familiar with the common welding types: shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW / MIG), gas tungsten arc
welding (GTAW / TIG), flux cored arc welding (FCAW) and submerged arc welding (SAW)
3G, 4G qualified.
Knowledge of structure drawing (Shipbuilding, Rig, MRO) and assembly sequence.
Knowledge of line marking in accordance with drawing
Experience in using electrical or manual tools.
Inspecting materials, welding equipment and tools.
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (such as face- shield, gloves etc.,)
Understanding various welding processes, Weld symbols, Weld maps, as well as cutting, grinding and gouging operations.
Qualifications should be acquired to be assigned to the production department. Experience
At least 11 years experience in Offshore Oil and Gas Construction or Shipyard/Ship repair Industry. Languages
