Structural Steel Design Engineer

About the Role:

This role involves leading the structural design and analysis of steel structures for industrial and other major projects. You will be responsible for producing detailed design calculations, performing connection design, reviewing Tekla and AutoCAD shop drawings, and ensuring compliance with American and British steel design codes. The position requires close coordination with architects, contractors, consultants, and authorities, as well as conducting site inspections to verify that works align with approved drawings. You will also support junior team members, manage design changes, and ensure timely delivery of all design-related outputs while maintaining the highest industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Must be able to design and analyse Steel Structure elements of industrial and other steel structures.

2. Must be able to develop detailed design calculations for the steel structures.

3. Must be able to do connection design of the steel structures and get approval from contractor, client and consultants.

4. Must be able to review shop drawings prepared in Tekla and Autocad

5. Attending meetings with authorities, consultants etc., for approvals

6. Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to develop structural designs.

7. Conduct site visits and inspections to assess that erection of steel structure in accordance with approved drawings.

8. Review and approve design changes and modifications based on project requirements.

9. Provide guidance and support to junior engineers and drafters.

10. Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to structural design.

11. Coordinate with project teams to ensure timely completion of design deliverables.

Essential Requirements:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Must be well versed in Staad Pro for Steel structure Design & IdeaStatiCa, Limcon, Hilti etc for connection design.

Must be familiar with American and British Steel Design Codes.

Dubai Municipality G+ Unlimited Structural Design License / G+12 license is mandatory.

Trakhees Grey card accreditation is mandatory.

At least 8 years of experience in structural steel design engineering.

Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
