Job Purpose
Supervises a team of structural engineers and draftsmen, ensuring the preparation of accurate and code-compliant structural design deliverables. The role provides technical guidance, coordinates with other disciplines, and supports project delivery in line with timelines, quality standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the structural design team across concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
- Review and approve structural calculations, models, drawings, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local and international codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Coordinate structural design activities with Architecture, MEP, Geotechnical, and other disciplines.
- Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and risk assessment exercises.
- Provide technical support during tendering, construction, and site stages as required.
- Resolve complex structural design issues and provide innovative engineering solutions.
- Ensure quality control procedures are implemented and maintained within the team.
- Contribute to proposal preparation, technical submissions, and client presentations.
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of a small group of engineers and draftsmen.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Provide technical support and coaching to junior engineers and staff.
- Report progress, challenges, and needs to the Senior Team Leader/Section Head.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 8 10 years of experience in structural design (preferably in consultancy or large-scale projects) including at least 1 2 Years of supervisory or Lead Team.
- Solid technical knowledge of structural systems and design codes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel- PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD, Revit Structure, AutoCAD).
- Very good command of English (written & spoken).
- Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple deliverables effectively.
