Job PurposeTo serve RIT students (undergraduates and graduates) and the university to develop, implement and monitor non-academic student support activities with an emphasis on major campus events to enhance RIT Dubai's student experience.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary liaison between student clubs and organizations and university offices
- Oversee registration, renewal, elections and recognition processes of student clubs/organizations
- Maintain accurate records of club membership, Bylaws, leadership structures and activities
- Support creation of new student organizations to reflect student interests and campus diversity.
- Ensure student clubs and organizations operate in accordance with university policies, procedures, regulations and UAE cultural norms
- Advise and support student clubs and organizations in planning and executing events, workshops, competitions, and campaigns
- Work in collaboration with the Student Government, staff, faculty departments and campus partners to develop, improve and promote a dynamic student life programming experience for the university's campus
- Report all planned expenditures for all student affairs related activities and services as per RIT policies and procedures
- Design and deliver leadership training for students
- Provide guidance and coaching to club officers on governance, planning, budgeting and conflict resolution
- Assist in the allocation and monitoring of club funding and budgets
- Monitor club and organizations compliance with risk management, financial and event requirements
- Review funding requests and expense reports in accordance with university guidelines
- Educate student leaders on financial accountability and resource management
- Collect and analyze participation data and engagement metrics
- Prepare reports on club activity, student involvement, and program outcomes
- Develop recommendations for continuous improvement of student engagement initiatives
- Ensures that student issues related to Student Affairs are effectively managed to a successful resolution, providing a clear and customer-focused summary of the issue to all relevant staff and if appropriate to any external parties
- Act as a representative on behalf of the Student Affairs Office in university committees as and when required to ensure students are supported (i.e., conduct hearing committees, academic integrity committees etc.)
- Ensure compliance with all relevant (internal and external) regulations including QHSE requirements using RIT policies and procedures as appropriate
- Maintaining a friendly yet professional boundary with students
- Contribute to the development and implementation of RIT Dubai's new student orientation programs and ensure successful implementation in additional to other major events as required
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related or relevant field, a business degree is advantageous
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience
- Previous experience of student affairs and/or student government / student unions work would be advantageous
- English Language Fluency, with fluency in at least one other language.
- Advanced organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to represent the institute in a professional manner
