Position OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate, knowledgeable, and organizedStudent Support Specialistto assist our counselors in guiding students and families through the college planning and application process. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion in working with students and to help them achieve their higher education goals.
Key Responsibilities- Meet one-on-one with students and families to do check-ins
- Assist students in researching and identifying suitable colleges and universities
- Guide students through the application process, including timelines, essays, and deadlines
- Support students in preparing first drafts of college essays, resumes, and interview skills
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and counseling sessions
- Stay informed on college admissions trends, financial aid opportunities, and scholarship options
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree in Communications, Psychology, Counseling, Education, or related field preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds
- Familiarity with local high school curriculums and college admission requirements would be beneficial
