Job Purpose:
Oversees the Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineering group to ensure and underwrite the Mechanical Integrity of all fixed equipment at assigned area, minimize equipment failure and optimize equipment lifetime.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs the activities, may include but not limited to:
- Oversees fixed equipment mechanical integrity initiatives. Oversees mechanical integrity of fixed equipment to drive
- improvements and corrective actions.
- Oversees and supports Capital Projects and Maintenance on fixed equipment design, construction, and replacement.
- Contributes to the turnaround planning process and ensures that all statutory inspections and tests are carried out
- according to the turnaround schedule. Oversees that any planned or unplanned maintenance or remedial action takes place
- on time according to the turnaround schedule.
- Provides advice, counsel and technical support for fixed equipment mechanical integrity issues.
- Participates within corporate mechanical integrity steering teams to establish initiatives.
- Oversees Root Cause Failure Analysis, preparation of failure analysis reports and recommendations of corrective actions.
- Oversees Management of Change process relating to fixed equipment to ensure mechanical integrity considerations are
- properly addressed.
- Oversees preparation of calculations to determine remaining life of fixed equipment.
- Serves as primary SME for day to day planned and unplanned related fixed equipment integrity events.
- Acquires funds for the end-to-end team's activities and manages assigned budget.
- Accountable for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the managed team.
- Carries out leadership responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
- interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and
- disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; managing organizational structure.
- Strictly follows established environmental, health, safety and quality policies and procedures to guarantee employee safety,
- legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/services and a responsible environmental attitude.
- Advocates safety culture across the organization.
- Provides environmental, health, and safety leadership in maintaining a goal of zero incidents, process safety and
- environmental events within area of responsibility.
- Develops and implements operational excellence (OE) requirements within the assigned area, coaching staff in expectations
- to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Undertakes accountabilities in the operational excellence process as set out in the schedule of responsibilities.
- Contributes to the processes of continuous improvement for the area managed and the organization more widely.
- Performs any other relevant task as directed by Manager Reliability Engineering.
Required Qualifications:
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in related field.
