  • JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE Summary of the main purpose of the job as the basic function and scope of the job in terms of organization, geographic areas supported, financial or other volume/size metrics, strategic impact and nature of supervision received or exercised related to the job in a descriptive manner Lead a team of dimensional controllers/structural fitters in performing dimension checking activities in accordance with Production Dimensional Control procedures, IMI HSE rules, regulations and project requirements under the guidance of Dimensional Superintendent. To work closely together with the Superintendent Dimensional, Structural Supervisor and the project team to ensure that all assigned dimensional survey works are executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and International Maritime Industries Management System (IMIMS). 3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Areas of Accountabilities (list up to 10 prime activities) (Describe concisely each principles work activity listed in logical order normally the list with include the most important duty first indicating important decision and recommendations made if applicable; start sentences with action verbs first)
  • Ensure all project works are executed safely on time.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) regulations in place.
  • Supervise and assign work for Dimensional Controller personnel.
  • Assist Superintendent (Dimensional) in training DC personnel and always implementing DC procedure.
  • Ability to understand Dimensional Control procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge in using surveying equipment and tools.
  • Verifying dimensions, measurements, cutting and preparation for block/panels
  • Inspect the equipment and tools they use while performing their job and maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Ensure that the surveying equipment and tools are calibrated.
  • Ensure the block /panels/items inspected is within tolerance
  • Ensure corrective action required by the DC team has been done by production.
  • Keep record measurements taken on site
  • Attend safety and daily toolbox meetings and under the risk involved with the jo

Requirements


Education

  • Technical diploma degree or equivalent qualification (apprentice). Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
  • Qualified Dimensional Surveyor or equivalent qualification – is a plus. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Good oral communication skills in English.
  • Can read and understand Engineering and fabrication shop drawings
  • Experience in using surveying equipment and tools.
  • Capable of producing draft DC report
  • Able to use basic trigonometry and use of scientific calculators.
  • Good knowledge in construction safety and permit to work procedures including quality issues.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (such as safety helmet, gloves etc.,) Experience
  • At least 11 years experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas Construction, Shipyard/Ship repair Industry. Languages
  • Good Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language. 5. WORKING RELATIONS Internal Interactions
