Supervisor, Lifting

Job Purpose

Implement and execute ADNOC New Lifting standard HSE ST-019 in area of authority. Prepare, review, and
approve the lifting operation plans. Support in Lifting Equipment operations, maintenance, and inspections. The
requirements include the implementation, and execution of lifting equipment maintenance, lifting equipment
inspection, equipment replacement in addition to generating lifting plans for movement of loads in ADNOC
Drilling.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

u2022 Implement ADNOC Lifting Standard in area of authority.
u2022 Promote Staff Active Engagement in better integrity management practices across area for continuous
improvement.
u2022 Assure the integrity of Lifting Equipment in area of authority.
u2022 Provide technical input into the development of integrity performance standards, inspection and survey
strategies and programs including suitable acceptance criteria.
u2022 Ensure the deployment of approved Third Party Inspector to site for the required lifting equipment
inspection, testing and certification well in advance to ensure all lifting equipment in area of authority
are having valid certificates.
u2022 Ensure that the requirements of ADNOC permit to work (WMS) and job safety analysis are complied
with.
u2022 Review and approve all types of Lifting Plans (Routine, Non-Routine-Simple, Non-Routine-Complicated
and Non-Routine-Complex) recommend a higher level of technical review to be undertaken including
the requirement to engage approved Third Party to review and verify the Lifting Plan whether the Lift is
being performed by ADNOC Group or Contractors.
u2022 Refer to the lifting technical authority for a final decision prior to perform the lift if there is any deviation
in any type of the lifts categories of the Standard and/or applicable ADNOC HSE manual.
u2022 Coordinate, control, and executing the lift.
u2022 Select the suitable lifting appliance and lifting accessories for the specific task.
u2022 Prepare the Lifting Plan and ensures that the required controls are in place.
u2022 Ensure that the lifting equipment is maintained, inspected and appropriate for use.
u2022 Ensure that load integrity and stability is satisfactory.
u2022 Ensure that the Soil stability is satisfactory.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 2)

u2022 Ensure that all necessary inspection/test certificates are available.
u2022 Brief people involved in or affected by the lift.
u2022 Ensure that the lift is carried out following the plan. Suspend the lift if changes or conditions (e.g., wind)
occur that would cause a deviation from the plan.
u2022 Ensure that that there is no deviation from standards for routine lifts.
u2022 Allow for concurrent or simultaneous operations that may affect or be affected by the lift, e.g., helicopter
operations, other cranes.
u2022 Comply with all UAE, ADNOC, ADNOC Drilling and client Asset Integrity Management codes of
practice.

Minimum Qualification

B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills

u2022 7 years hands-on experience in Rig Lifting equipment and inspection in the oil & gas industry,
including 5 years in a similar position.
u2022 Adequate experience in Quality Management Systems.
u2022 Fluency in spoken and written English.
u2022 Must be computer literate.
