JOB PURPOSE:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the supply chain operations in KSA, including logistics, warehousing, distribution, purchasing, quality assurance, inventory control, supply chain coordination, demand and supply planning, and customs clearance. This role ensures efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of products while maintaining high-quality standards and compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs procedures. Additionally, the Supply Chain Manager will align and coordinate closely with the regional team in Kuwait, including the Warehouse Director, Market Planning Head, and Group Logistics Freight Director, to ensure streamlined operations across borders, including effective demand forecasting, supply alignment, and smooth customs processes.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies and processes aligned with overall business objectives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and improve supply chain effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the regional team in Kuwait to ensure alignment of supply chain strategies and policies.
Logistics Management
- Oversee logistics operations including inbound and outbound freight, ensuring cost-efficient and timely deliveries.
- Work closely with the Group Logistics Freight Director to optimize transportation routes, negotiate contracts with carriers, and enhance logistics capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards for logistics operations.
Warehouse & Distribution Management
- Manage warehouse operations, ensuring optimal space utilization, inventory accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.
- Align with the Warehouse Director in Kuwait to ensure consistent standards of warehouse management across the region.
- Oversee distribution processes to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products to customers across KSA.
Purchasing & Procurement
- Develop procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and materials.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, consistency, and value in the procurement process.
- Negotiate contracts and establish strong partnerships with key suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Maintain clear visibility for the whole procurement cycle while providing real time data to prevent order duplication or missed orders.
Quality Assurance (QA)
- Ensure adherence to quality standards throughout the supply chain process, including sourcing, warehousing, and distribution.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain product integrity and safety.
- Collaborate with QA teams to conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers and internal processes.
Inventory Control & Management
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Implement inventory management systems and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate with the Market Planning Head in Kuwait to ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory planning.
Supply Chain Coordination
- Supervise and mentor Supply Chain Coordinators, ensuring effective communication and execution of tasks.
- Foster collaboration among logistics, warehousing, procurement, QA, and inventory control teams.
- Promote cross-functional coordination with regional counterparts to achieve unified supply chain goals.
Financial Performance & Cost Optimization
- Develop and manage the supply chain budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor costs related to logistics, procurement, warehousing, and distribution, implementing cost-saving initiatives where possible.
- Provide regular financial reports and recommendations to senior management.
People Management & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supply chain professionals, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training and development plans.
- Ensure alignment of team objectives with overall company goals and standards.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies related to supply chain operations.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain business continuity.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards within all supply chain activities.
EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, preferably within the Food Service or FMCG sector.
- Proven leadership experience in managing logistics, warehousing, procurement, QA, inventory control, and supply chain coordination teams.
- Experience working with regional teams and coordinating multi-location supply chain operations.
