Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager – Projects to support the Engineering Office and project teams in managing supply chain activities related to projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, procurement, sourcing, coordination, and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and project-related requirements in line with approved project specifications, budgets, schedules, and business requirements.

The role will work closely with Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Finance, and suppliers/contractors to ensure that project supply chain requirements are identified early, commercially managed, and delivered within the required timelines.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in project-based procurement and supply chain management, preferably within construction, engineering, real estate development, or other project-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Supply Chain Management

• Lead and manage supply chain activities supporting engineering and construction projects.
• Develop supply chain plans aligned with project requirements, priorities, budgets, and schedules.
• Identify project material, equipment, and procurement requirements at an early stage.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Construction teams to understand technical and project requirements.
• Ensure critical materials and equipment are sourced and delivered within required project timelines.
• Monitor procurement and supply activities against project schedules.
• Identify potential supply delays and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
• Maintain visibility of critical procurement and delivery milestones.

Procurement & Sourcing

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities for project-related materials, equipment, and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop suitable suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and evaluate commercial quotations and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
• Ensure procurement activities are aligned with approved budgets and project requirements.
• Coordinate technical and commercial evaluations with Engineering, Construction, and Quantity Surveying teams.
• Support the preparation and issuance of purchase orders and procurement documentation.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with agreed commercial and delivery terms.

Project Coordination

• Work closely with Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Finance, and Project Management teams.
• Translate project requirements into clear procurement and supply requirements.
• Coordinate with Engineering teams regarding specifications, approved materials, quantities, and technical requirements.
• Coordinate with Quantity Surveying and Cost Management teams regarding budgets, quantities, and commercial requirements.
• Coordinate with Construction teams regarding required delivery dates and site requirements.
• Escalate critical supply chain risks to project and senior management.

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Build and maintain a reliable supplier and vendor network.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
• Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs.
• Manage supplier issues, delays, quality concerns, and commercial disputes.
• Develop alternative suppliers for critical materials and project requirements.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews and recommend corrective actions where required.

Logistics & Delivery

• Coordinate the logistics and delivery of project materials and equipment.
• Monitor delivery schedules and ensure materials arrive according to project requirements.
• Coordinate with project/site teams regarding delivery schedules and site readiness.
• Identify logistics constraints and potential delays affecting project execution.
• Ensure proper documentation and tracking of project deliveries.

Cost & Commercial Management

• Support project cost optimization through competitive sourcing and effective negotiations.
• Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities from a supply chain perspective.
• Monitor procurement costs against approved budgets.
• Support the evaluation of supplier quotations and commercial proposals.
• Track procurement commitments and forecast potential cost impacts.
• Work with Quantity Surveying and Finance teams to ensure accurate commercial reporting.

Team & Performance Management

• Manage and develop the Supply Chain team supporting projects.
• Establish clear responsibilities, processes, and performance expectations.
• Establish and monitor supply chain KPIs.
• Monitor procurement cycle time, supplier performance, delivery performance, savings, and cost efficiency.
• Develop the capabilities of procurement and supply chain personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement in project procurement and supply chain processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10–15 years of professional experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Project Procurement.
• Proven experience in project-based procurement and supply chain management.
• Strong experience supporting construction, engineering, real estate development, infrastructure, or other project-driven environments.
• Proven experience managing suppliers, vendors, procurement activities, and project deliveries.
• Strong experience in commercial negotiation and supplier management.
• Experience coordinating with Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Finance, and Project Management teams.
• Strong understanding of procurement planning, sourcing, logistics, delivery management, and supplier performance.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience as Supply Chain Manager, Project Procurement Manager, Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Lead, or Procurement Head.
• Experience supporting multiple construction or engineering projects simultaneously.
• Experience managing procurement of construction materials, MEP equipment, architectural materials, finishes, equipment, and project-related services.
• Experience developing supplier networks and alternative sourcing strategies.
• Experience with ERP/procurement systems.
• Professional certification such as CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent is preferred.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a project-focused Supply Chain Manager who understands that supply chain is a critical enabler of project delivery.

The candidate must be capable of working directly with Engineering and Construction teams to understand what is required, when it is required, from whom it should be sourced, at what commercial terms, and how to ensure timely delivery.

The role is therefore not limited to purchasing activities. It requires strong capability in project procurement, supplier management, procurement planning, commercial negotiation, logistics coordination, and supply risk management.

Experience: 10–15+ years preferred
