Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee procurement, strategic sourcing, inventory planning, and end-to-end supply chain operations for a leading lubricant manufacturing facility in Qatar. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted availability of base oils, additives, packaging materials, and plant operational requirements while optimizing inventory levels and procurement costs. This position requires strong technical knowledge of lubricant raw materials, supplier management, and manufacturing supply chain processes.
Mandatory Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience:
- Minimum 7–12 years of procurement and supply chain management experience within lubricant blending plants, petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, or specialty chemical industries.
- Proven experience in sourcing and procurement of lubricant base oils and additive packages.
- Hands-on experience managing plant-wide procurement and inventory operations.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, APICS/CSCP are highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of lubricant base oils (Group I, II, III, IV & V).
- Sound understanding of lubricant additive technologies and formulation requirements.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, inventory management, and demand planning.
- Strong knowledge of international procurement, import/export procedures, and shipping documentation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and procurement analytics skills.
Mandatory Criteria:
- Demonstrated experience in lubricant, petrochemical, or chemical manufacturing industries.
- Strong supplier management and contract negotiation capabilities.
- Ability to analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement & Sourcing
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production requirements and business objectives.
- Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, vendor evaluations, and procurement planning.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
Base Oil & Additive Procurement
- Manage sourcing and procurement of lubricant base oils including Group I, II, III, IV (PAO), and V specialty fluids.
- Procure lubricant additives such as detergents, dispersants, antioxidants, anti-wear additives, viscosity index improvers, pour point depressants, friction modifiers, and corrosion inhibitors.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with major suppliers including Lubrizol, Infineum, Afton Chemical, Chevron Oronite, and leading global base oil producers.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Develop demand forecasts based on production schedules and sales requirements.
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate inbound logistics, shipment tracking, and warehouse planning.
- Implement inventory optimization and stock control initiatives.
Plant Procurement Management
- Oversee procurement of packaging materials, spare parts, maintenance tools, laboratory consumables, PPE, machinery, equipment, and operational supplies.
- Ensure timely availability of all plant requirements while controlling costs.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Identify, qualify, and develop strategic suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and audits.
- Resolve quality, delivery, and commercial issues effectively.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare procurement reports covering spend analysis, inventory status, supplier performance, cost savings, and market intelligence.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and documentation.
