Surveyor (BIM Data Coordination)- (Heavy Civil Construction Project in NSW)- ON-SITE POSITION

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently looking for a Survey & BIM Data Coordination Engineer to join our team for a Heavy Civil Construction Project in Cooma, NSW.

-Location:Cooma, NSW (100% On-site Position).

-Estimated Duration:24 months- In general, when the project ends, we try to relocate the employee to other projects to ensure continuity.

-Summary: the Survey & BIM Data Coordination Engineer will support the Survey Department as the primary interface with the BIM team on civil engineering projects. The role focuses on managing, processing, and coordinating survey data and point clouds to ensure they are accurately prepared and ready for BIM integration. The successful candidate will help produce highquality 3D and 4D models for planning, sequencing, and project delivery.

-Responsibilities:

• Collect, manage, and coordinate all survey data, including point cloud scans, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Process and clean point cloud data by removing noise and preparing datasets suitable for BIM use.
• Generate surfaces and models from point cloud data, including terrain, structures, roads, and civil infrastructure elements.
• Prepare survey outputs and processed data for seamless handover to the BIM Department.
• Work closely with BIM teams to ensure the correct integration of survey data into BIM models.
• Develop and integrate 3D and 4D BIM models, including alignment with construction scheduling where required.
• Coordinate and collaborate across digital teams, acting as a technical interface between Survey and BIM disciplines.
• Use and manage digital platforms and Common Data Environments (CDE), including Autodesk ACC and 12D Synergy integration.
• Utilize relevant software tools such as Revit, 12D Model, AutoCAD Civil 3D (acceptable alternative to 12D), and Leica 3DR (optional).
• Support the implementation of digital workflows and best practices related to survey data and BIM coordination.
• Participate in continuous improvement of digital processes, with training provided for additional 4D planning tools if required.

-Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey & BIM Data Coordination Engineer in tunnels/ underground/mining/ heavy civil construction projects or similar.
• A degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Geospatial Engineering, Civil Engineering, BIM or similar.
• Strong digital coordination skills, extensive experience with survey and BIM software, proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams, and solid technical capability in survey data processing and BIM integration.

-Working Hours:14/7 rotational 12-hour shifts- Day/Night/ Monday to Friday- 10 hours shift- to be determined-
