Overview
Surveyors play a critical role in ensuring the accurate measurement, documentation, and analysis of land conditions for construction and landscape development projects. They work closely with project teams to provide precise topographical data, verify site conditions, and ensure full compliance with project requirements and industry regulations. This position directly supports landscape construction projects by delivering the essential data needed for effective planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive land and topographical surveys for landscape construction projects.
- Prepare accurate site measurements, survey reports, and mapping data.
- Utilize advanced surveying equipment and software, including GPS, Total Station, and AutoCAD.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to align survey outputs with project needs.
- Verify site conditions and ensure all data complies with project specifications and regulatory standards.
- Establish control points, benchmarks, and reference markers necessary for construction execution.
- Review and update survey data throughout project stages to reflect changes or new requirements.
- Assist in problem-solving by providing accurate field data to support design and construction decisions.
- Maintain organized records of survey findings, drawings, and digital files for internal and external use.
- Uphold strict compliance with safety procedures and environmental guidelines during field operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years in land surveying, preferably within landscape or construction projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in surveying tools and software such as AutoCAD, GPS systems, Total Station, and related surveying technologies.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of topographical analysis, site layout, and construction surveying principles.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in measurements, calculations, and documentation.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify site issues and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Teamwork: Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for delivering accurate survey reports and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Education: Diploma or degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
