Job Description

Position Title: Surveyor (Pipeline Pre/Post Survey)

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Surveyor to join our team for pipeline pre- and post-survey activities. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate geospatial data collection, quality assurance, and compliance with design specifications for large-scale oil and gas construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and oversee surveys and data collection to maintain accurate geospatial information within the Corporate GIS system.
  • Perform site engineering dimensional checks to verify compliance with design drawings for ongoing civil and pipeline construction projects.
  • Provide technical guidance on survey methodologies for both in-house and outsourced projects, ensuring accuracy and relevance of data.
  • Review technical aspects of tenders related to surveying and mapping; participate in evaluation committees to assess contractor capabilities.
  • Supervise and ensure quality assurance of contractor field activities, verifying adherence to approved survey methods and health & safety standards.
  • Review and approve contractor deliverables related to surveying and data collection for contractual compliance.
  • Maintain and manage survey equipment; stay updated on technological advancements in geomatics and recommend improvements where applicable.
  • Develop and implement standardized procedures for topographical surveying, site engineering, and mapping activities.
  • Witness and advise on specialized survey activities such as hydrographical surveys, LiDAR, and other advanced data collection methods.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.Sc. or Higher Technical Diploma in Surveying, Mapping, or a related discipline. Membership in a recognized professional institution is an advantage.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of surveying experience, with at least 5 years in large-scale oil and gas construction projects.
  • Proficient in field surveying equipment and related software, including AutoCAD and ArcGIS GIS suite.
  • Strong knowledge of survey scope preparation, method statements, and positional/dimensional checks for pipeline construction.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
