Role Description The Sustainability Director (part-time, remote) will lead the development and implementation of the college's sustainability strategy across academic, administrative, and community initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing current environmental practices, setting measurable sustainability goals, and coordinating programs that address resource efficiency, waste reduction, and low-carbon operations. The role will oversee sustainability reporting, prepare documentation for internal and external stakeholders, and recommend policies aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements. The Sustainability Director will collaborate with faculty, staff, and student groups to integrate sustainability into curricula, outreach activities, and institutional planning. This position requires regular virtual meetings, preparation of reports and presentations, and close coordination with college leadership to ensure continuous improvement in sustainability performance.

Qualifications

Demonstrated skills in Corporate Sustainability and Sustainability Reporting for educational or corporate institutions.
Experience in Corporate Social Responsibility and Carbon management, including emissions assessment or reduction initiatives.
Background in Environmental Science or a related field, with the ability to interpret environmental data and regulations.
Strong analytical, project management, and policy development skills, with the ability to set and track sustainability targets.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders and preparing clear reports and presentations.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, Management, or a related discipline; advanced degree or relevant certifications are an advantage.
Experience working remotely and collaboratively, with high levels of initiative, integrity, and organizational skills.
Prior experience in higher education or community-based sustainability initiatives is desirable.
