Sustainability & Environmental Manager (LEED AP)

We are expanding our team for an exciting Large-scale Mixed‑Use Development project in the North Coast of Egypt and are looking to engage a highly skilled professional for the role of Sustainability & Environmental Manager.

The Sustainability & Environmental Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all sustainability and environmental management activities across the project. The role will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability targets, and project-specific environmental requirements while integrating sustainability principles throughout design, construction, and operational phases. The successful candidate will act as the primary environmental and sustainability advisor within the PMC team, driving environmental performance, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor sustainability and environmental management strategies, plans, and initiatives across the project.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, permits, standards, and project requirements.
• Lead environmental monitoring activities and track sustainability and environmental KPIs.
• Coordinate with design consultants and construction teams to integrate sustainability and environmental requirements into project delivery.
• Review and assess environmental impact studies, audits, environmental management plans, and sustainability reports.
• Manage environmental compliance audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
• Support the implementation of sustainability frameworks such as LEED and other relevant green building initiatives.
• Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and external agencies on environmental matters.
• Identify environmental risks and establish mitigation measures to ensure project compliance and sustainability objectives are achieved.
• Prepare and present environmental and sustainability performance reports to project leadership and stakeholders.
• Promote sustainable construction practices and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project teams regarding environmental management and sustainability requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Master's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or related field is preferred.

Professional Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
• ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems certification preferred.
• PMP Certification is considered an advantage.
• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) training or certification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 12-15 years of professional experience in sustainability and environmental management.
• Proven experience working within a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) or engineering consultancy environment.
• Demonstrated experience on large-scale infrastructure, mixed-use developments, or mega projects.
• Strong experience implementing sustainability frameworks, including LEED certification requirements.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental compliance, audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), environmental management plans, and sustainability reports.
• Experience integrating environmental and sustainability requirements throughout design and construction phases.
• Strong stakeholder management experience with regulatory authorities, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
