Swimming Pool and Water Tank Cleaning Supervisor

Job Purpose

• The Operations Supervisor/Engineer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Operation and Maintenance (O&M) activities of swimming pools, water tanks, water features, and water treatment systems across assigned facilities. This role ensures that all water systems operate efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM) and Dubai Municipality (DM) regulations, as well as internal quality and HSE standards.

• The position involves planning, supervising, and coordinating field teams; monitoring water quality and system performance; troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and chemical dosing issues; and ensuring the reliability and sustainability of all water-related assets. The Operations Supervisor/Engineer acts as the focal point between site teams, clients, vendors, and OEMs to deliver operational excellence through preventive maintenance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Roles, Responsibilities, Duties

1. Operations & Maintenance Management

• Supervise and manage the operation and maintenance of swimming pools, water tanks, and water treatment systems (filtration, dosing, circulation, and disinfection units).
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure reliable system performance.
• Oversee day-to-day site activities and ensure maintenance works are carried out in line with approved SOPs, O&M manuals, and manufacturer guidelines.
• Ensure dosing systems, filtration units, and pumps are operating within correct design parameters.
• Analyze technical issues, diagnose equipment failures, and ensure timely rectification with minimal disruption to operations.

2. Water Quality Control & Compliance

• Conduct and review daily/weekly water testing for key parameters (pH, chlorine, alkalinity, hardness, cyanuric acid, TDS, turbidity, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with ADM/DM water quality regulations and ISO 10500 standards.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions such as super-chlorination, dilution, or filtration backwash when parameters deviate from acceptable ranges.
• Prepare and submit regular water test reports to clients and regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate with third-party labs for microbiological and Legionella testing when required.

3. Team Supervision & Resource Planning

• Lead a team of pool operators, technicians, and team leaders; assign daily work schedules and ensure performance monitoring.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and on-site technical training sessions.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and adherence to HSE guidelines
• Evaluate manpower requirements and propose resource optimization or additional support as needed.

4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)

• Enforce safe work practices in line with Khidmah HSE policy and legal regulations.
• Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of pool chemicals and reagents.
• Verify that all staff use appropriate PPE during chemical handling, maintenance, and cleaning tasks.
• Conduct periodic HSE inspections, risk assessments, and maintain MSDS documentation.
• Report and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts/conditions; ensure timely CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

5. Client Coordination & Communication

• Act as the primary operational contact for clients and FM teams.
• Attend joint inspections and operations meetings with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide updates on maintenance progress, operational issues, and improvement recommendations.
• Address client complaints or concerns professionally and ensure prompt resolution.
• Prepare technical proposals for system upgrades, replacements, or process optimization.

6. Asset & Inventory Management

• Maintain updated records of all equipment (filters, pumps, dosing systems, etc.), including asset tag details, service history, and performance logs.
• Ensure timely procurement and availability of consumables, spare parts, and chemicals.
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams for inventory control and replenishment.
• Track chemical consumption trends to identify optimization opportunities and prevent wastage.

7. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, water test logs, chemical dosing charts, and inspection reports.
• Submit weekly/monthly operational performance reports to management.
• Ensure all CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) entries such as MIR, WIR, NCR, and SOR are updated promptly and accurately.
• Support audits (internal/external) by providing required documentation and evidence of compliance.

8. Continuous Improvement & Technical Support

• Identify opportunities for process improvement, energy savings, and system optimization.
• Recommend modernization of dosing systems, automation enhancements, or filtration upgrades.
• Participate in commissioning, testing, and handover of new installations or refurbishments.
• Support management in preparing technical proposals, cost estimates, and tender documents for specialized water treatment works.

9. Financial & Performance Accountability

• Monitor operational costs and ensure spending remains within approved OPEX budgets.
• Support cost-saving initiatives without compromising safety or quality.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as downtime, compliance rate, and client satisfaction.
• Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, materials, and equipment resources.

10. Information Security & Confidentiality

• Comply with Khidmah's Information Security Policies and Procedures.
• Safeguard all operational data, credentials, and client information.
• Report any information security incidents or breaches to the IT Service Desk immediately.
• Refrain from unauthorized system use, password sharing, or disabling system security features.
• Ensure whoever handles sensitive company information have taken the Security Awareness Training
• Know how to report a security incident (to IT ServiceDesk or InfoSec).
• Not Disable his/her OS firewall and/or Antivirus
• Restrict use to authorized purposes, Protect access accounts, privileges and associated passwords.
• Accept accountability of his/her individual user accounts, and maintain confidentiality

Experience and Skills:

Industry Experience (No. of years):

• 2–5 years in pool, water-tank cleaning and water treatment systems

Position/functional experience (No. of years):

• 1–2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Engineer role

Competencies and Skills:

• Strong knowledge of swimming pool, water tank, and water treatment systems — including filtration, dosing, and circulation operations.
• Skilled in water testing, chemical balancing, and ensuring compliance with ADM/DM regulatory standards.
• Ability to lead multi-site technical teams, allocate resources efficiently, and monitor performance.
• Well-versed in safe chemical handling, MSDS procedures, and implementing Khidmah HSE policies and risk controls.
• Excellent interpersonal, reporting, and client coordination skills to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction

Education & Qualification

Diploma or Bachelors in Engineering at Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical

Training in pool maintenance or water-treatment systems preferred

Basic First Aid and safety awareness preferred
