Job Description
Scope of Work
Manage syndication and specialized lending activities for transactions and portfolios in Qatar.
Support origination, underwriting, execution, closing, and post-closing monitoring.
Transaction Responsibilities
Performance is measured through loan exposure, net interest income, fee income, returns, approval turnaround, closing ratios, execution timelines, asset quality, covenant compliance, and relationship development.
Manage syndication and specialized lending activities for transactions and portfolios in Qatar.
Support origination, underwriting, execution, closing, and post-closing monitoring.
Transaction Responsibilities
- Prepare screening papers, credit appraisals, recommendations, and approval memoranda.
- Support loan market distribution, pricing analysis, and investor targeting.
- Analyze financial statements, models, sensitivities, scenarios, and cash flows.
- Review transaction structures, security, covenants, repayment profiles, and risk allocation.
- Review financing documentation, including LMA-based documents and intercreditor arrangements.
- Perform borrower analysis and financial spreading using Credit Lens.
- Assess deal and portfolio profitability using RAROC, ROE, economic capital, pricing, and return metrics.
- Conduct annual transaction reviews as required by policy.
- Coordinate internal approvals across credit, legal, compliance, operations, treasury, ESG, finance, and senior management.
- Support technical, legal, insurance, environmental and social, and market due diligence.
- Monitor milestones through closing, documentation, signing, disbursement, and post-closing follow-up.
- Monitor covenants, waivers, amendments, watchlists, early warnings, and portfolio performance.
- Prepare management reports on pipeline, profitability, fees, exposure, distribution, and market intelligence.
- Maintain transaction databases, document warehouses, and management records.
- Conduct sector, sovereign, macroeconomic, and ESG research with cited sources.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulations, and AML/KYC standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in syndicated, structured, project, or corporate finance.
- Experience in syndicated loan origination, execution, underwriting, or participation.
- Understanding of primary and secondary syndicated loan markets.
- Strong knowledge of LMA documentation, loan processes, and closing mechanics.
- Financial modeling, credit analysis, credit risk, covenant analysis, and portfolio management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic.
- CFA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is a plus.
- Experience with DFIs, ECAs, export finance, or regional or international banks is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ESG and sustainability-linked financing principles is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AI productivity tools and financial databases.
