Portfolio Manager – Equity Statistical Arbitrage

A leading global multi-strategy investment firm is seeking to appoint a Portfolio Manager to lead an Equity Statistical Arbitrage strategy within its systematic equities platform in Abu Dhabi.
This is a front-office investment role with full responsibility for strategy design, portfolio construction, risk management, capital deployment, and PnL delivery. The successful candidate will operate with full autonomy within a multi-PM platform structure, supported by institutional infrastructure, capital, and data.
The role is suited to a PM with a proven track record in market-neutral systematic equity strategies and experience operating within a professional multi-strategy environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage an equity statistical arbitrage investment strategy
- Design, develop, and oversee systematic market-neutral trading models
- Own portfolio construction, risk frameworks, and capital allocation
- Oversee alpha research, signal development, and model enhancement
- Work with quantitative researchers and technologists to productionise strategies
- Manage drawdowns, risk exposure, and performance attribution
- Ensure robust governance, model validation, and operational resilience
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Portfolio Manager or Senior Quant Lead in equity stat arb or systematic equities
- Demonstrated live trading track record in market-neutral strategies
- Strong understanding of alpha research, portfolio optimisation, and risk modelling
- Experience operating within multi-strategy hedge fund platforms
- Strong quantitative and technical foundations
- Strong leadership capability with experience building and managing research teams
