Objectives
Maintain computer systems, provide technical support and teach end-users the basic skills required to operate computer systems, IT equipment and programs.
Key Accountabilities
Computer Operations
- Operate computing systems and peripherals; Install and maintain local and remote peripheral equipment like PCs, laptops, printers, scanners and phones.
- Work with vendors for PC/printer/Laptops/Phones maintenance and hardware replacement.
- Monitor systems for abnormal job terminations and operating problems; separate reports and other output, prepare reports on equipment problems.
- Initiate and complete scheduled production jobs; perform and schedule routine and preventive maintenance on computer equipment and peripherals
- Participate in determining cause of job and system failure, and take corrective action as and when required.
- Maintain backup images of PCs and laptops; undertake primary/backup responsibilities as per the Responsibility Matrix set forth within the IT Operations/Telecommunications section.
- Maintain operational procedure manuals, offsite storage, production schedule, supply inventory, required computer and backup logs.
- Follow the change management process for any scheduled or un-scheduled changes.
Information Systems Support
- Support Infrastructure Systems and assist in maintaining computer systems.
- Install and support software applications and peripheral equipment, and set up user and security settings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve computers operating, software/hardware, database problems and provide technical support as requested and to communicate with vendors to resolve issues as necessary.
- Test new software with various operating systems and update software for users as released by vendor.
- Monitor and update usage to ensure security of data and access privileges when program modifications are performed.
- Contribute in maintaining Operations Security by implementing security controls across systems based on recommendations, intimations and directions from the Information Security team and SOC
- Check server event logs on a daily basis and report findings to the Senior Systems Analysts.
- Work with departments to design and maintain secure document archival system.
Office Support/Communication
- Serve as department information resource to assist end-users with computer, network, software/hardware, and related problems.
- Maintain open communication between IT Department and end-users to encourage questions and problem solving.
- Follow the SLA to close helpdesk tickets on time.
- Organize data for efficient retrieval and reporting; prepare necessary correspondence related to work duties.
- Update and manage hardware, software and printer consumables inventory.
- Work on a rotational schedule between Doha, Mesaieed, and RLOC to provide IT support services and be part of the routine IT on-call service.
- Work on extended hours during server patch management or special assignments/projects as and when required
Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures
- Comply with all the policies, processes, standard operating procedures, rules and regulations relating to computer systems and peripheral equipment, so the work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high quality products/services.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
Required: 3-year Diploma in Information Technology.
Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Information Technology.
Experience
Required: Up to 3 years of experience in the same field.
Preferred: Experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemicals Industry.
