T-Shirt Designer – Freelance

We are seeking a freelance t-shirt designer to collaborate on the first official merchandise drop for an Auckland-based events company that focuses on DJ culture, local talent, and creating inclusive party environments. The role involves translating the brands unique identity into wearable designs that resonate with the community. The initial direction leans toward a single-color, low-key aesthetic, but creative input and experimentation are welcomed to ensure the final product feels authentic, stylish, and true to the brands ethos. This is a remote project with the possibility of future collaborations on additional merchandise or visual design needs.

Deliverables

• Design 12 t-shirt graphics that align with the brands identity and event culture
• Provide design concepts and iterations based on feedback
• Deliver final artwork files optimized for print production
• Ensure designs are versatile, clean, and suitable for different t-shirt colors and styles

Requirements

• Proven experience in graphic or apparel design, preferably with past work in music, events, or streetwear culture
• Strong portfolio showcasing creativity and the ability to develop designs that reflect brand personality
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools
• Understanding of print production requirements for apparel, including file formats and color separation
• Ability to balance client direction with original artistic input
• Strong communication skills for remote collaboration and timely delivery of work
