Work you will do

Deloitte Government & Public Services is committed to improving public outcomes through a focus on people. At Deloitte, we think about the complex issues facing the public sector and develop relevant, timely and sustainable solutions for our clients.
As a Consultant in Deloitte's Consulting and Transformation Practice, you will support project delivery and contribute to strategic, operational, and transformation initiatives for government agencies, public institutions, and public sector organizations across Singapore and the wider Southeast Asia region. You will work alongside experienced practitioners to deliver research-driven insights, economic analysis, and recommendations that help clients address complex challenges and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end project delivery for government and public sector clients, including strategy development, policy analysis, transformation initiatives, and operational improvement projects.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research, including market studies, economic analysis, industry assessments, and benchmarking exercises.
  • Develop presentations, reports, and client-ready materials that communicate complex findings clearly and effectively.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to assess economic, financial, and strategic issues affecting public sector organizations.
  • Support the development of business cases, transformation roadmaps, and evidence-based recommendations for client decision-making.
  • Perform data gathering, validation, analysis, and interpretation using a range of research methodologies and analytical tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary Deloitte teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality client outcomes.
  • Monitor economic, policy, and industry developments across Singapore and Southeast Asia to identify key implications for public sector clients.
  • Contribute to thought leadership, proposal development, and practice-building initiatives where required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, Business, Political Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in consulting, economics advisory, public policy, research, strategy, or related fields.
  • Exposure to economic analysis, forecasting, econometric techniques, policy research, market research, or strategic analysis through internships, academic projects, or professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience conducting desktop research, industry analysis, competitor analysis, and synthesizing findings into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with the ability to create high-quality presentations and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated interest in government, public policy, economic development, social impact, or public sector transformation.
  • Experience with analytical tools, databases, or research platforms such as Capital IQ, Bloomberg, FactSet, EViews, Oxford Economics, or similar platforms would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
